Autumn Fest 2008Autumn Fest is a two-day festival in beautiful and historic downtown St. Croix Falls, WI. This annual festival celebrates art, trade and sustainable community initiatives in the St. Croix River Valley area.

Saturday, September 27

10-11am Tribal Spirits of the Sun “Drum Circle” at the Overlook.
10-10:45am Workshop: Building a Community Based Food System for Economic Development / Solar Energy Basics at the St. Croix Riverway Visitor Center.
10-11am Workshop: The Existential Optimist at the Les Amis Shop - Sit a Spell Book Store
11-11:45am Workshop: Building a Sustainable Community / Green Travel at the St. Croix Riverway Visitor Center.
11:15-12:45pm “Juggernauts” perform at the Overlook Deck.
12-12:45pm
Workshop: Being Fit Anytime and Anywhere! / The Natural Step for Communities at the St. Croix Riverway Visitor Center.
12-1pm Workshop: Fitness Through the Ancient Art of Belly Dancing at the Les Amis Shop - Sit a Spell Book Store
1-2pm St. Croix Falls birthday cake celebration in honor of 170 years since the town’s settlement. Events take place at the Overlook Deck.

  • Olympian Megan Kalmoe will be welcomed by Mayor Darrell Anderson and the Hudson Rowing Club
  • The River Spirit plaque will be unveiled
  • Rosemarie Braatz will share historical stories of St. Croix Falls
  • Release of homing pigeons

1-7pm Community Corn Roast at the St. Croix Tavern.
2:30-4pm “Relative Minor” music at the Overlook Deck.

4-5pm Corn eating contest in the beer garden at the St. Croix Tavern.
4-8pm St. Croix Falls Public Library Harvest Dance and Dinner fundraiser with “Earthdance” DJ. At the old Fire Hall Downtown.
7:30-9pm Tim Sparks & Michael Young at the Festival Theatre (reservations encouraged).
8-12pm Band (TBD) at the St. Croix Tavern.

Sunday, September 28
1-3pm St. Croix Falls Restaurant Chili Contest: featuring local ingredients, children's music by Sandy Bishop, and open mic.

The public decides the winner! FREE chili, milk, and ice cream!
Free will donation monetary taken for the St. Croix Falls Food Shelf.

Each person attending a workshop will receive a gift bag with a low-flow showerhead, a compact fluorescent bulb, and more – provided by XCEL Energy!
